Why I Joined Improv: Vince Jackson, COO

The Path Here

My journey to Improv has been shaped by a career spent at the intersection of operations, leadership, and people. Along the way, I’ve seen both sides of leadership: the frustration that comes when poor leadership stifles people’s potential, and the incredible momentum that’s unlocked when individuals are empowered, supported, and trusted. Those experiences left a lasting impression on me. I knew I wanted to devote myself to work where developing people and building better systems went hand in hand.

A Desire for Impact

Workforce systems aren’t just software—they’re the invisible framework that shapes people’s day-to-day experience at work. When designed poorly, they drain energy and create barriers. When designed well, they give people clarity, balance, and room to grow. I joined Improv because I wanted to help organizations make that shift—to move from frustration and complexity toward systems that truly enable people to thrive.

Shared Values

What drew me here most was the culture. Improv is not about pushing cookie-cutter solutions. It’s about listening, solving problems with integrity, and valuing relationships as much as results. That alignment with my own values—caring for people, building trust, and striving for excellence—made this the right place to bring my energy and focus.

Developing and Growing People

One of my core passions has always been helping people grow. I believe the best leaders don’t just set direction—they create an environment where others can stretch, learn, and succeed. At Improv, I get to live that out every day—mentoring teams, supporting clients through change, and designing systems that let people focus on what they do best. My past experiences showed me what happens when leadership fails to invest in people, and that fuels my drive to ensure others never feel that same limitation.

The Challenge Ahead

Improv sits at a unique crossroads: technology, people, and process. It’s not an easy space—every project is complex, every client’s needs are different—but that’s exactly what excites me. The challenge is where the growth happens, for both the organizations we serve and the people on our team.

Looking Forward

I joined Improv not just for what it is today, but for the future we can build together. I see endless potential to innovate, to empower, and to help people and organizations thrive. My vision is to foster a culture where people feel valued, supported, and challenged—because when we invest in people, the results always follow. That’s the kind of future I want to create, and that’s why I’m here.
